Tomato Salad

With our Tomato & Basil Box


  • 4 large heirloom tomatoes 
  • ½ cup olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar 
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt 
  • 1 teaspoon whole grain mustard 
  • Freshly ground black pepper 
  • ½ cup basil leaves, torn
  • ¼ cup mint leaves, torn


Serves 4-6.

Place a strainer over a medium bowl.
Cut your tomatoes in half and place over the strainer, squeeze out all the seeds and juices from the seed pockets in each tomato.

Using the back of a spoon push as much liquid and pulp from the seed pockets as possible. Discard the remaining seeds and pulp.

Into the liquid gathered add the olive oil, vinegar, salt, mustard and pepper. Whisk to combine. Take your tomato halves and cut them into ½”-1” pieces. 

Place into the bowl containing the tomato dressing. Toss to coat. Add the basil and mint then gently toss.

Let sit for 5-10 minutes until serving.
